Innovation is the core of the food industry and GastroPan 2024 international exhibition, which took place between 14-16 March, in Brașov, represented a vibrant epicenter of the latest and most exciting developments in the field of baking, confectionery and gastronomy. At the event, innovation was not just an abstract concept, but a tangible and visible reality that fundamentally transforms and improves the way industry professionals do business.
The main attractions of the exhibition
The food industry is constantly evolving, and at GastroPan 2024, attendees had the opportunity to participate in live demonstrations and interactive workshops, supported by leading experts who shared the secrets and innovative techniques to stay in step with the latest industry trends.
And this year, there was a big presence at the digitization and robotization stands with waiter robots, automation machinery and sensor equipment, which proved the present and future of the industry for the target audience and a strategic launch pad for the start of the new season.
Machines and equipment of various capacities that process hundreds of kg of raw material in an hour, wash and sanitize utensils in just three minutes or slice finished products in any shape – were some of the hundreds of solutions and technologies that were exhibited.
The chocolate industry was present at GastroPan 2024 with high-quality raw materials, tempering machines and dredge machines – and visitors were very excited about the presentation possibilities that can be used at start-ups offered by the state.
Many visitors stopped at the ice cream stand to learn about the newest flavors and tastes that will dominate the 2024 season, but also at the rotating showcases that offer a new, innovative, elegant design.
The coffee exhibitors presented the latest and most modern machines, espresso machines, but also brought coffees with new flavors and designs that can be used in food establishments.
Industry specialists were able to learn the latest and most complex software and IT systems that can be introduced into their own business to ease the work of the staff.
Ingredients and utensils, including biodegradable packaging, were some of the topics of conversation between exhibitors and visitors as the sustainability trend is also present in these sectors.
Cake of the Year 2024 with walnuts, honey and black cherries and Bread of the Year 2024 with 3 types of flour and wild soursough
The GastroPan Competitions designated the much-coveted prized, the Cake of the year 2024 which was won by Gabriela Mirică characterized by a top with Romanian walnuts, a crispy layer with praline of baked walnuts and crispy flakes from egg white, sheets with honey, cream based on caramelized honey and sweet cream, black cherry jam, milk chocolate, caramel glaze and baked nut praline, cherry jelly and chocolate decoration and dehydrated honey cherry jelly flowers. The Bread of the year 2024 was won by Bocskor Bakery with a bread made from white flour, whole rye flour and whole spelled flour and wild sourdough.
